The village chief does not have his own name, just like his father, who is also like his father. The eldest sons of the village chiefs throughout the generations have all lost their names, and the collateral branches of the family have assisted the ruling family of the village. Inheriting this heavy responsibility, the peripheral branches have not only engaged in farming and fishing, but they also share some of the work required by the village chief. Over time, some of the mothers in the family passed away and the siblings moved out of the courtyard.

The novel "Spider Silk Bridgeport" is a Chinese-style, matriarchal perspective magical realism work. The language and narrative of the novel have characteristics, mixed with divine, witchcraft and folk colors. As a young author born in 1999, Luo Liyan completed this work at the age of 23, which shows that she has the ability to master long-form works and has a rare sense of epic and mythology. The "bridge port" in her works is not only based on the prototype of Lingnan region, but also presents a unique aesthetic temperament.
——Zhou Xiyan, editor of Works
The novel "Spider Silk Bridgeport" depicts the resistance of three generations of "mad women" to escape from the isolated island "Bridgeport". The novel fully explores language experiments and uses many elements with a strong Lingnan witchcraft flavor. "Bridgeport" gathers a group of expatriates to reflect on cultural history, search for cultural roots, and ultimately rush into the mist to escape from the isolated island and flee to an unknown place.
——Li Lu, editor of West Lake
The language of "Spider Silk Bridgeport" is wonderful and beautiful, and it is indeed a very good work.

——Professor Chen Jing from Fudan University
The "Spider Silk Bridgeport" is a rare female myth and a legendary story with distinct South China characteristics, depicting the myth and fable of the women from the Bridgeport who fled from the isolated island. It's challenging for Miss Luo to write such an epic story at such a young age. As the second chapter of "Spider Silk Bridgeport", "Dead River" is a highly symbolic beginning. Jia Liang is willing to immerse herself in the earth to escape the bondage of her father and brother, and is eventually taken away by the earth god, which is extremely magical.
