Burning to death, dying through punishment, burning to death, departing—these are the different destinies of the four female characters in "Spider Silk Bridgeport." Lingdang, the first generation, escapes from marriage; Mangyan, the second generation, marries multiple times and eventually spends her remaining years with a bull's horn. Then there's Jialiang, the third generation, who has a relationship with theLand God.Kawa establishes connections with corpses and insects. These four so-called "mad women" in the novel gradually peel away the layers of the former goddess worship in Bridgeport. The paternal authority that worships thunder and lightning, though lacking any physical presence on the altar, constantly pushes away the sculpture of the mother goddess while attempting to rebuild it. While it may appear as a struggle between the worship of the father god and the mother goddess, in reality, it is the women's attempt to deconstruct the long-established discourse of the paternal system. They use "castration" as a means to pry open a fissure in the discourse of the paternal system, to counterattack and escape.

"Due to a series of unfortunate events, she inadvertently caused the death of her own aunt, engaged in a relationship with her own brother, and gave birth to the flesh and blood of her brother, Bohe. After being abandoned by Bohe, her love turned into hatred. Her body, due to long-term consumption of poisonous mushrooms, grew two green-colored long bones — remanent bones.
When she was lifted up by the crowd, herremanent bones were broken but remained connected by tendons and ligaments, like chicken bones that cannot be easily bitten apart. They stayed with her, bound to the hairpin mountain, impervious even to the pecking of birds."

Jialiang嘉良
"When the daughter was lifted by someone, she was still unconscious. But as soon as the bag was tightly wrapped around her, she woke up and screamed. She cried out for her parents and younger brother to save her. The mother covered the brother's mouth, while the father held the wife tightly and whispered in her ear, reassuring her that their daughter was only being taken for a physical examination and would soon return.
The first flickering flames in the village started spreading along with the shouts and screams, reaching every household. People anxiously looked out and saw the father and son walking at the front of the procession, followed by the village chief's assistants carrying a wooden box from which distressing cries could be heard. Upon hearing the sound, everyone realized that the father's daughter was inside the wooden box. The group of people headed towards the outskirts of the village, towards the river. The river was frozen solid between the banks, but as they approached, it gradually softened. The helpers carrying the box noticed that it suddenly started shaking violently, almost becoming difficult to hold steady.
She had transformed into a snake. All of this confirmed the suspicions of the village chief and the people in the village. She was indeed a demon."

「女兒被人搬起時候還沒有意識，可布袋一封緊她便驚醒了尖叫了起來。她叫喊著要父母和弟弟救她，母親被弟弟捂住嘴，父親緊緊地抱著妻子，在她耳邊輕聲說道，女兒只是被帶去檢查身體，很快會回來。
村裏第一盞燒起的火光隨著呼聲和尖叫蔓延到每家每戶，人們探頭猛地看到父親和兒子走在隊伍的前頭，身後村長的幫工們抬著一個木箱，木箱中傳來慘淒的呼救。一聽聲音，大家便發現木箱裏裝著的是那個父親的女兒啊。一行人面色凝重地往村外，往河流走去。河流緊緊地凝凍在兩岸間，在眾人走近的時候慢慢柔軟起來，而搬抬的幫工也發現木箱倏然狠力抖動起來，幾乎難以抬穩。
她成蛇了。這一切也都證實了村長和村裏的人對她的猜測，她確實是妖。」

Kawa卡娃
"When the spring planting season arrived, the weather warmed up. Lanqi's mother, as usual, was awakened by the voices of her two children. After getting dressed, she went out, intending to cook for the children. To her surprise, Kawa had already packed the food in banana leaves, and everything in the boat was prepared. Her son told her that today, with the unusually clear sky, they planned to officially test the navigation boat and the silk bridge. After Kawa boarded the boat, he playfully reached out his hand to his mother, inviting her to experience the speed of the navigation boat."
